At RitchieIoT, we are continuously working to make energy monitoring and building intelligence more accessible, flexible, and powerful. As part of this effort, we are actively expanding native device support within our energy platform at energy.ritchieiot.co.za.
Our goal is simple: reduce integration friction and allow you to connect more devices, faster, with minimal custom work.
New Native Device Support
We are currently rolling out native support for a growing range of popular and widely deployed devices, including:
- Meross and Refoss smart energy devices
- Tasmota-flashed energy monitoring hardware
- MQTT-enabled devices that publish structured JSON data
This means that if your devices can communicate over MQTT and provide clean, structured payloads, there is a strong chance we can integrate them directly into our platform with minimal effort.
Flexible MQTT Integration
For advanced users and integrators, MQTT remains one of the most powerful ways to connect distributed systems. Our platform is designed to ingest and process JSON-based MQTT messages efficiently, enabling:
- Real-time energy monitoring
- Device-level analytics
- Scalable multi-site deployments
- Custom telemetry pipelines
If you are already working with MQTT in your environment, integrating into RitchieIoT is straightforward and highly adaptable.
Supporting Industry Protocols
Beyond native and MQTT-based devices, we also support integration with a wide range of established building and industrial protocols, including:
- Modbus
- KNX
- M-Bus
- OPC UA
Where direct integration is not immediately available, we provide a practical path forward. By supplying purpose-built hardware along with lightweight custom translation layers, we can bridge these protocols into our platform.
In essence, we normalize diverse device data into a unified format that our energy system can understand and process—allowing you to centralize monitoring without replacing existing infrastructure.
Custom Device Onboarding
We understand that every deployment is different. If you are working with devices outside of our current supported list, we are open to evaluating and onboarding new hardware.
If your device can output data (especially in JSON or via a known protocol), we can usually build a pathway to bring it into the platform.

Built for Real-World Deployments
Whether you are managing a single site or a distributed portfolio of buildings, RitchieIoT is designed to scale with your needs. By combining native integrations, MQTT flexibility, and protocol translation capabilities, we aim to eliminate the traditional barriers between devices and actionable energy insights.
